RCS Hot-Fire Test
is a sea level test of Orion’s GOX/GCH4 RCS at Orion’s facility.

  Hot-Fire Test of Gimballing Thruster
is a test of the “Canfield Joint”. Orion designed and fabricated the small hydrogen/oxygen thruster and provided testing. This apparatus can gimbal a full 90 degees.

  2,700 Hybrid Hot-Fire Test
is a 15 second duration static test on Orion’s 2,700 lbf-thrust hybrid rocket engine at Orion’s West Test Facility.

  Rhenium Nozzle Hot-Fire Test
is a 10 second duration test on a Rhenium/Irridium chamber (provided by NASA/MSFC) that uses GO2/GCH4 as its propellants. This material combination can withstand high temperatures and is being investiagted for its space applications. This testing was performed by Orion at its Madison facility.

  Nitrous Oxide-Ethane Igniter Vacuum Test
Twenty consecutive ignitions were performed on N2O-C2H6 propellants in our vacuum testing facilities. These tests illsutrate the relaibility of N2O-C2H6 ignition in a vacuum environment.

Hot-Fire Test of QuickReach Motor on Orion Propulsion Test Stand
is a 10 second test of the HMX LO2/LC3H8 engine for the AirLaunch QuickReach rocket, which is for the DARPA FALCON program. Orion Propulsion designed, fabricated, and tested the hirozontal test stand being used (and seen in ths video) to test the engine. Orion Propulsion staff supported the hot-fire tests.

Cryogenic Tank Burst Testing at Orion Test Facilities
Cryogenic tank burst testing for NASA/MSFC. The Composite Over Pressure Vessels (COPVs) are filled with LN2 and LOX and then shot with a 30 caliber bullet to observe failure. Orion runs these tests and fabricated the testing fixture for the tank. These tests are at Orion’s East Test Facility.

Cryogenic Tank Burst Testing at Orion Test Facilities-2
is the same as above, just a different tank.

  Hot-Fire Test of Suitcase Hybrid
is a 20 second hot-fire test of a Plexiglass and Nitrous Oxide hyrbid motor. This hybrid is compact and portable and serves as an educational demonstrator that illustrates the inherent saftey of hyrbid motors as well as the same type of rocket technology used by SpaceShipOne.
